Rainy Weekend
A voice expresses beauty,
when words are poetry.
A hand expresses beauty,
when art is made to see.
A foot expresses beauty,
and it becomes a dance.
Two of these I can use,
the last I have no chance.

You are blessed … double blessed … continue to dance with your voice and dance with your hands … for me … and never look back. Love, cat (http://catsruledogsdroole.blogspot.com)

Cat … thank you for your kind words.
I enjoy your words of poetry also my friend – they come from a depth and have given me much food for thought in days past.

This is my absolute favorite sketch you have drawn. It is beautiful. You have captured the dancers pointe flawlessly. I particularly like the way you chose to sketch the foot from the underbelly of the arch. Wow, I would have this framed in my house. It’s perfect!

Thank you Kimberly. I really enjoy images of dancers and in particular I like watching modern dance. The expression and feeling conveyed in both ballet and modern dance are so powerful.
I envy you for having that experience. A little late for me to learn now though, as not too many parts move independent of others anymore and I look quite the fool for even trying 😉
I do dance at times, but I don’t dance like no one is watching … I only dance when no one is watching!

🙂 so very lovely LS. Beautiful rendering of filmy dress …
What I would give to be able to dance gracefully too .

Thanks Poppy.
Yeah … I don’t know what my problem is. It is like only one part of me can dance at a time. Getting this whole body to move synchronously in some manner that could be considered graceful … hmm … therein lies the challenge!

Are you sure you have no chance? I believe that any one that can walk, can dance.

Ha-ha. Well Claudia, read my words again. I also believe anyone can dance.
But my dancing is more likely to create amusement for others than provide me with a means of expressing feelings or beauty 😉
You on the other hand … I have seen you dance. Spinning, swinging, and tapping your way across the floor with so much freedom!

OK, yes. You have mentioned that before. I think that if dancing comes from the heart, it is always beautiful. Beauty comes from within, in my opinion.
But it’s ok. As long as you keep drawing and I keep dancing, there will be beauty in the world 🙂

Oh, my… The poetry of motion from the brain to the pencil. I cannot fathom it. And the poem delighted me. You set the reader up with your solemnity and elegance throughout. Then, you pounce on the reader tickling his ribs until he laughs. You are an imp of a poet! 🙂 Thanks for the morning chuckle.

Just stumbled upon your blog. My goodness! You are very talented. The details in the foot and the lightness of the chiffon are wonderful. All the best. Diane
