Little Ones Lost

In this world, innocent children are born into violence and poverty every day.
In this world, children through no choice of their own have violence and poverty cast upon them.
My heart aches for the children in Newtown, Connecticut.
Little ones who will never forget the violence.
Little ones who were taken but will never be forgotten.

Pan’s Labyrinth tells of a little girl living in a very violent world. A little girl who had forgotten she was a much loved and valued Princess. Let’s make sure we do not let the little ones in our lives forget. Despite the violence, despite the poverty, let’s remind them every day.

“A long time ago, in the underground realm, where there are no lies or pain, there lived a Princess who dreamed of the human world. She dreamed of blue skies, soft breeze, and sunshine. One day, eluding her keepers, the Princess escaped. Once outside, the brightness blinded her and erased every trace of the past from her memory. She forgot who she was and where she came from.”
